Russia demands to change the “grain agreement” and again blames Ukraine
Russia is being demanded to amend the Istanbul Agreements due to the fact that Ukrainian products are allegedly sent, for the most part, not to poor countries.
“We believe that adjustments are needed. After all, the goal of the efforts made by both the UN Secretary General and the President of Turkey was, I repeat, to help the poorest countries,” said russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin after the talks in Istanbul.
The russian official claims that grain is currently supplied primarily to relatively well-off and developed countries.
Vershinin also noted that there are “some shifts” in russian food supplies.
We will remind you that in recent months, Ukraine sent ships with agricultural products, in particular, to India, Algeria, Yemen, Ethiopia and other countries where there is a shortage of food. In addition, the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian initiative was launched in November, as part of which Ukraine plans to send more than 60 ships with food to Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Congo, Kenya, Yemen, etc.
For its part, russia, criticizing the work of the “grain initiative”, is at the same time sabotaging it. Representatives of the terrorist country at the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul are deliberately delaying inspections of vessels with Ukrainian grain. Because of this, more than 80 ships are waiting for inspections, standing in line for 3-5 weeks, and the export of Ukrainian products through the “grain corridor” in November fell by 1 million tons, compared to October.
