Russia disposes of all captured Ukrainian ships in Crimea

Russia intends to dispose of all captured ships of the Naval Forces of Ukraine in Crimea.

The ships stolen from Ukraine will not be transferred to the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, reports rosZMI with reference to a source in the Russian security forces.

Instead, all Ukrainian ships in Crimea are scrapped.

After the occupation of Crimea, Russia seized about 20 Ukrainian ships, including the Large Landing Craft “Kostyantin Olshanskyi”, the corvettes “Ternopil” and “Lutsk”, the control ship “Slavutich”, etc.

“Until 2023, these ships were under guard in Sevastopol. Currently, according to the source, the disposal process for some ships has been suspended due to the need to ensure the safety of Russian ships,” rosZMI reported.

We will remind you that Russia has started the illegal disposal of ships of the Ukrainian Navy. The aggressor country seized the ships in 2014.

In June 2023, 6 captured ships of the Navy were located on the territory of the waste disposal plant in Inkerman. Inkerman Shipyard “Chermet” is located in the city.

As of December 15, the famous Ukrainian  minesweeper “Cherkasy” was moored for disposal at the Vtorchermet shipyard in Inkerman.

The minesweeper was part of the Navy of Ukraine. The Russian invaders were able to capture it only on the night of March 26, 2014. The ship was taken by storm with the help of two Mi-35 helicopters and three boats.
