Russia does not recognize the UN resolution on the payment of compensation to Ukraine

Russia absolutely opposes the resolution of the UN General Assembly on compensating Ukraine for damages caused by full-scale aggression.

“Naturally, the organizers of this process are trying to complete the looting of our gold and foreign exchange reserves, which were completely illegally blocked. Actually, this is the formalization of this robbery using the UN site. This decision is not legally binding, so we will treat it as such. We are absolutely against this,” Europeyska Pravda quotes Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of russian federation, as saying.

Peskov noted that russia will do everything possible to prevent the seizure of frozen russian assets.

“Against the background of absolute neglect in the last six months of all the foundations and rules of private property, international law, etc., of course, such raider methods of seizure prevail. We will take all this into account when determining our further line,” said the official of the terrorist country.

It will be recalled that the UN General Assembly at a special session adopted a resolution calling on russia to compensate for the damages caused by the full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

According to the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kislytsia, the resolution is “a declaration that russian federation should be held accountable for violations of international law in Ukraine.”

Despite the fact that the resolution is of a recommendatory nature, this document can become a legal basis for the creation of a mechanism for the enforcement of reparations. The adoption of the document can speed up the actions of Western countries to allocate frozen russian assets worth at least $300 billion for the recovery of Ukraine.
