Russia has attacked Odesa region’s ports over 180 times since the beginning of the year, — Kuleba

Since the beginning of the year, Russia has already carried out more than 180 attacks on the port infrastructure of Odesa and Chornomorsk.

This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.

A meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Development with local business and journalists was held in the Odesa region. One of the key topics is the work of ports, security and attracting investments.

Despite the war, investors’ interest in the port of Chornomorsk remains. The public-private partnership project is already at the stage of considering applications, Kuleba reported. He also said that at least four more large infrastructure projects are being prepared in the Odesa region. This is one of the key elements of the future reconstruction of Ukraine and its integration into international logistics routes.

In 2026, the intensity of attacks on the port infrastructure of Odesa and Chornomorsk increased: if there were about 150 attacks in all of 2025, now there are more than 180. The enemy is using massive strikes and increasing the number of UAVs. In response, Ukraine is increasing the number of mobile fire groups, replenishing the crews of UAV interceptors, increasing electronic warfare and coordination with the military. In percentage terms, the effectiveness of the shootdown has already increased by 25-35%, Kuleba said.

The minister added that work is being done in parallel with the efficiency of ports: the tasks for managers are to reduce downtime, reduce cargo processing time and increase transshipment volumes.

Earlier, USM reported that more than 680 objects of Ukraine’s port infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.
