Russia has restricted the movement of ships through the Kerch Strait

On the evening of August 2, the Russian government introduced restrictions on the movement of vessels through the Kerch Strait.

In particular, the movement of underwater and surface vessels, as well as aircraft, is limited, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said. According to “Radio Svoboda” , the exceptions are ships of the Navy, the Russian Guard and the FSB.

Also, the traffic was allowed for vessels heading during daylight hours on fairways and recommended routes through the Kerch Strait in transit or to ports located in the Kerch Strait.

At the same time, it is said that an inspection area has been created for ships coming from the Black Sea.

The reasons for these restrictions were not reported in Russia.

As USM reported earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation completely prohibited the passage of small vessels through the Kerch Strait.
