Russia is jamming the GPS signal in the Gulf of Finland

The Russians are jamming the GPS signal in Finland in an attempt to destabilize the situation in NATO countries.

In the last week, Finland has reported an increase in the number of “failures” in GPS operation, Ukrinform reports.

Most of the aviation and marine GPS and radar “failures” originate from Russia, indicating likely sabotage by a terrorist country.

In particular, on the night of July 10-11, a Finnish sea pilot encountered serious GPS and radar malfunctions while piloting other vessels near Kotka and Hamina on the southern coast of Finland.

According to the pilot, GPS was unavailable for 90% of the route between Orrengrund Pilot Substation and Hamina Harbour. He also published a video of the radar malfunction.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that reports of disruptions in Finland are consistent with news of Russian interference in the Baltic states.

Earlier, USM reported that the Ministry of Defense of Germany believes that Moscow is most likely responsible for GPS malfunctions in the Baltic Sea region. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, complaints about GPS signal interference have become more frequent in the Baltic Sea region.
