Russia launches fifth nuclear submarine of the Yasen-M project

The Russian Federation has launched the Perm submarine, which will be the first carrier of the “Tsyrkon” hypersonic missiles.
The Russian enterprise USK Sevmash in Severodvinsk has launched the Perm nuclear submarine of project 885M “Yasen-M”. This is пише reported by “Militarnyi”.
The Perm submarine was laid down on July 29, 2016, and it is planned that its completion will be completed by 2026, after which the boat will join the Russian Navy. This is the fifth submarine of this type, after Kazan, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Arkhangelsk. Perm will be the first submarine of its class to be equipped with the “Tsyrkon” hypersonic missiles.
The Arkhangelsk prototype was launched in 2023. The time from launch to commissioning for the Perm submarine is expected to be approximately 1.5-2 years, similar to previous submarines of this type.
The submarine is 130 meters long, 13 meters wide and has a displacement of 13.8 thousand tons. The crew consists of 90 people, and the nuclear power plant allows it to reach speeds of up to 16 knots on the surface and up to 31 knots underwater. The maximum depth of immersion of the submarine is 480 meters.
The submarine’s weapons include “Onyx” anti-ship cruise missiles, “Kalibr” strike missiles and 533-mm torpedoes. All future submarines of this type, including Perm, will be modernized to launch “Tsyrkon” hypersonic missiles.
In total, it is planned to build 9 submarines of this type. The submarines Kazan, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Arkhangelsk have already been transferred to the Eastern and Northern fleets of the Russian Federation. Perm, Ulyanovsk, Voronezh and Vladivostok are at various stages of construction, and the construction of the ninth boat, Bratsk, is currently only being planned.
The day before, USM reported that the partisan movement ATESH had conducted reconnaissance of the base of the Russian Pacific Fleet.
