Russia may soon launch an ammonia export terminal in the port of Taman
An ammonia and nitrogen fertilizer transshipment terminal under construction at the Russian port of Taman on the Black Sea is scheduled to begin its first shipments in early 2024.
At the moment, commissioning, completion and reconstruction of all facilities are actively underway at the terminal, writes CTS with reference to rosZMI. As a result, the aggressor country expects that the facility will soon start operating in test mode in the coming months.
It is noted that the terminal will be the first such facility in the Russian Federation, as previously ammonia transshipment from the aggressor country was carried out in foreign ports, in particular in Ukraine.
Before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the main export route for Russian ammonia was the Tolyatti-Odesa pipeline. It pumped an average of 2.5 million tons of ammonia per year.
