Russia plans to form another flotilla next year to “protect the independence and security of the state.”

Next year, they want to create another fleet in Russia, reports rosZMI with reference to the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

“To effectively protect the independence and security of our state, a set of measures will be taken to increase the number and strengthen the armed forces of Russia. In addition, it is planned to form another army corps, seven divisions, nineteen brigades, forty-nine regiments and one flotilla next year,” he commented.

According to Medvedev, the situation in the world and around Russia “remains tense”, in connection with which the country should make a decision to continue the work on the additional staffing of the armed forces with servicemen under contract in 2024.
