Russia plans to launch a ferry service between Berdyansk and Mariupol

Russian senators proposed to organize a ferry connection between Berdyansk and Mariupol ports.

The head of the Sovfed committee on economic policy, Andrei Kutyepov, said that it is important to launch ferries between the “new territories” and the Rostov region and the Krasnodar region in order to “prevent a transport collapse”, rosZMI reports.

According to Kutyepov, it is also necessary to “create transport corridors from the reunited territories to Crimea.”

“The Sea of Azov is now an internal sea of russian federation, but it is a fairly safe environment,” the senator is convinced.

Earlier, the occupiers launched the ferry “Lavrentii” from Yeisk to Mariupol (home port of Novorossiysk). The ship can carry up to 700 tons of cargo.

The russian vessel is designed for the transportation of military goods. With the help of the Lavrenty ferry, you can transport, for example, 20 wagons of ammunition in one 4-hour flight.
