Russian officials are proposing to arm ships in the Sea of ​​Azov with machine guns to protect them from drone attacks.

Thus, officials in Russia are proposing to install machine guns and mobile missile launchers on grain ships to protect them from attacks by Ukrainian drones.

Currently, the Russian military and transport departments are negotiating with grain traders and ship owners on the protection of cargo in the Sea of ​​Azov. The Russians are proposing that armed military personnel accompany the ships at the beginning of their journey.

Russia is also proposing that its military personnel board ships in ports in the Sea of ​​Azov and install machine guns on them, which should be equipped with thermal imaging or night sights. After passing through the Kerch Strait, weapons and ammunition will be taken from the ship.

It is expected that the costs of such “modernization” will be covered by traders and shipowners, who, by the way, do not believe in the effectiveness of such measures.
