Russia wants to supply ammonia to Odesa Port Plant within the framework of the Grain Agreement
The Russian Federation is trying to “attach” the issue of the operation of the Tolyatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline to the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
“The grain agreement does not provide for the satisfaction of any needs of the Russian Federation, and the issues of the operation of the ammonia pipeline initiated by Russia and the lifting of sanctions on Russian banks are currently being discussed separately,” Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said, Ukrinform writes.
According to him, Russia is trying to “fix” these issues, but they are currently under discussion.
The diplomat emphasized that the UN signed an agreement with the Russian Federation and a corresponding memorandum on facilitating the resolution of these issues.

“Therefore, discussions regarding those requirements are ongoing, and the Grain Agreement should function separately, since the document on it was signed in exactly this format,” Vasyl Bodnar explained.
As previously reported by USM, in September 2022, the UN put pressure on Ukraine and Russia to resume operation of the Tolyatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline. The organization wants the resumption of ammonia exports through the Black Sea as part of the Grains Agreement.
