Russia will start exporting coal from occupied Mariupol

Russia plans to start exporting coal from the port in occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region.

Export of coal from occupied Mariupol will begin in October. This is reported by rossMI with reference to the “Donskie Coals” trading house.

“Donskie Coals” leases Russian-occupied mines in the Luhansk region. The company announced that it will start exporting coal through the port of Mariupol from October.

The main directions of supply will be aimed at foreign markets, including China, India, Iran and other countries.

The company is also negotiating with buyers from countries such as Uzbekistan and Malaysia. Alternative routes via Taganrog, Rostov-on-Don and railways to Azerbaijan and Iran were previously discussed, but exports via the Eastern Polygon were ruled out due to competition with Siberian coal plants.

Previously, USM reported that the Russians were preparing the Mariupol port to increase the volume of export of stolen Ukrainian grain.
