Russian crude oil exports through seaports increased by almost 1.6 million tons, — Klymenko

According to the results of October 2025, Russia’s seaborne crude oil exports increased by 1.577 million tons compared to September – to 24.967 million tons.
Seaborne crude oil exports of the Russian Federation in October 2025 reached almost 25 million tons – more precisely, 24,967,821 tons. Such data was published by the head of the project of the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies, Andriy Klimenko.
Compared to August (22,244,945 tons) and September (23,390,445 tons), this means an increase of almost 1.6 million tons in one month.
The distribution by region looks like this:
• Baltic ports – 11,886,005 tons (increase +731,468 tons);
• Black Sea ports – 4,995,117 tons (increase +219,520 tons);
• Far Eastern ports — 6,325,820 tons (an increase of +226,052 tons);
• Arctic northern ports — 1,760,879 tons (an increase of +400,336 tons).
Klymenko emphasizes that despite statements about sanctions and interceptions, the real load on tankers transporting oil from the Russian Federation to India, China, Turkey and other countries has not decreased.
According to him, the monitoring is based on the analysis of the movement of 550,600 vessels per month without the use of artificial intelligence — only human analytics, experience and direct navigation information.
“Everyone is talking about sanctions and lists of tankers, but there is no reason to rejoice yet — while this mechanism is working without restrictions,” Klymenko noted.
He added that Ukraine knows what to do next, and that EU countries will have to physically limit Russian oil exports if they want to feel the effect.
At the same time, as USM reported the day before, after the drone attack, the Black Sea port of Tuapse stopped fuel exports.
