Russian Federation destroyed more than 11 million tons of elevator capacity of Ukraine
As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 11.3 million tons of grain storage facilities were destroyed.
Ukraine’s elevator capacity has decreased by almost 20% since the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion, according to a KSE study.
“The estimated total capacity of the damaged warehouses is 3.3 million tons of simultaneous storage. 11.3 million tons of simultaneous storage capacities were completely destroyed. This led to total losses of $1.8 billion,” the analysts emphasized.

It is noted that only in the Kharkiv region, 61% of granaries were completely or partially damaged.
As previously reported by USM, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide up to UAH 270 million in co-financing for the development of Ukrainian elevator capacities.
