Russian federation is reorienting coal exports to Asian and African countries

As a result of EU sanctions, russia will export coal to Asian and African countries. Also, Turkey does not neglect russian raw materials.

EU sanctions on the export of russian coal entered into force on August 10. The coal embargo forced russia to reorient the market to Turkey, India, China and African countries. As recently as September, Turkey imported russian thermal coal at $199 per ton, 23% lower than the same quality coal from Colombia, the next largest supplier. This is reported by “Europeiska Pravda” with reference to Bloomberg.

We would like to remind you that starting from December, the vessels going under the flags of EU countries will not be able to transport raw oil of russian origin. The ban also applies to technical and financial assistance to exporters from russian federation. Instead, it is allowed to provide transport services if oil or oil products are purchased at the established price limit or cheaper.

In addition, the EU imposes additional restrictions on the import of wood pulp and paper, cigarettes, plastics and cosmetics, jewelry stones and precious metals, which bring russia significant income.

Previously, USM wrote that the United States have postponed preci restrictions on russian oil until January.
