Russian federation re-registers vessels involved in the theft of Ukrainian grain
Vessels transporting stolen Ukrainian grain from Crimea are removed from russian registers and re-registered as foreign companies.
The bulk carrier “Matros Pozynych” was removed from the Russian registers and registered as a company in Greece, “Mirotvorets” journalist Kateryna Yaresko reports on Facebook.
The vessel was chartered to the Antique finance SA company, and the management to the large Piraeus company Newport SA.
“As stated on the website of the Greek company, it specializes in grain transportation, has a fleet of one and a half dozen bulk carriers (according to other data, 20). Of course, “Pozynych” is not shown on the website, and the owner has not yet been changed in the IMO database,” emphasizes Kateryna Yaresko.
Earlier, USM reported that the court had arrested four vessels that were carrying out illegal activities in Crimea. According to the investigation, the vessels “Matros Pozynych”, “Mykhailo Nenashev”, “Matros Koshka” and another Syrian vessel systematically enter the closed port of Sevastopol. Russian federation uses Crimea as a “grey zone” for the transportation of grain, which it illegally seized in Ukraine.
