Russian marine fuel is being exported less and less

After the rejection of the Western countries from Russian energy carriers, the Russian Federation is forced to sell marine fuel on the domestic market.

In Russia, it is predicted that the consumption of marine fuel in the domestic market will increase by 20% in 2023 – to 7.4-7.5 million tons. For comparison, in 2022, Russia consumed 6.1-6.3 million tons of its own fuel. Such indicators are caused by the drop in exports and the active expansion of their own “shadow” fleet.

According to some estimates, by the end of 2023, domestic consumption of marine fuel may increase by 25%.

It will be recalled that due to sanctions on Russian energy carriers, the terrorist country is trying to reorient its exports to Asian countries and the domestic market. At the same time, the Russian Federation hopes to cover financial losses caused by sanctions. It is, in particular, about the extraction of raw materials. Thus, according to the results of last year, the revenues of the Russian budget from oil production and export decreased by 25%.

In addition, the recent explosion on a Russian ship near the “KTK” oil pipeline and the “Sheskharis” oil terminal in Novorossiysk will also have an impact on the Russian oil market. After all, through these facilities, Russia exported about 11 million tons of oil and 3 million tons of diesel fuel every month. However, due to the increasing number of “incidents” near Novorossiysk, bunkering and transshipment of Russian fuel will become significantly more difficult.
