Russian military on shadow fleet ships spy on Danish infrastructure, media report

Local pilots report that they often see people in military uniform on board Russian vessels taking pictures of critical infrastructure.

This was reported by employees of the Danish state pilotage service DanPilot, writes Gospodarka Morska.

The information from the pilots was passed on to Danish services, in particular the Danish Emergency Management Agency. The agency did not comment on the media reports.

At the same time, the Maritime Danmark portal quotes Jacob Kaarsbo, the chief analyst of Danish military intelligence, who is not surprised that Moscow has begun using the shadow fleet for hybrid operations. In his opinion, Russian intelligence wants to have access to possible changes in the infrastructure in order to have the most up-to-date data possible.

Earlier, USM reported that Sweden and Denmark will intensify inspections of Russian tankers in the Baltic Sea.
