Russian seamen were exchanged for captured female defenders

Russian seamen, in particular those who had been in Izmail since the beginning of the full-scale war, were exchanged for captured Ukrainian women.

“108 Ukrainian women returned home on October 17 as a result of a large-scale exchange. They were exchanged for russian sailors, in particular for all those who stayed in Izmail for several months,” People’s Deputy of Ukraine Anatoliy Urbanskyi reported on Facebook.

USM previously reported that 72 russian civilian sailors were in Izmail at the ship repair plant. There are also eight vessels that the Cabinet of Ministers was preparing for nationalization.
