Russian ship catches fire off the coast of South Korea


The fire broke out on Wednesday, March 26, on the Russian refrigerated vessel Crystal Asia.

The fire on the vessel was preceded by an explosion in the engine room, Russian media report.

According to the Busan Maritime Police, six Russians were injured in the incident, two of them are in serious condition. All the injured were taken to medical facilities.

The vessel is currently in the port of Busan, where it will remain for repairs.

Earlier, USM reported that a Chinese vessel sank a North Korean bulk carrier carrying smuggled coal.
