Russian ship commits another theft of grain from Berdyansk port

The Russian-flagged vessel “Kapitan Yakovlev” transported stolen Ukrainian grain to the port of Famagusta.

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Myrotvorets center.

Thus, the dry cargo vessel “Kapitan Yakovlev” (IMO:9077575) arrived at the port of Famagusta, located on the territory of the unrecognized “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”.

The vessel was carrying a cargo of over 3.9 thousand tons of wheat, which was taken out of the temporarily occupied port of Berdyansk.

“The vessel was loaded in Berdyansk, after which on May 9 the bulk carrier went to the port of Temryuk for several hours to process documents and made a direct flight to Northern Cyprus,” Kateryna Yaresko reported.

It should be noted that the port of Famagusta has been officially closed by the Republic of Cyprus to international shipping since 1974. All vessels entering it directly, without the permission of the Cypriot authorities, are considered violators.

We will remind, in early May, a bulk carrier from the “black list” moored in Sevastopol. The vessel was transporting looted grain from occupied Berdyansk.
