Russian ship “under cover” heads to Tartus again

The Sparta IV vessel has left the Russian port of Baltiysk and is heading to the Syrian port of Tartus.

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Myrotvorets center.

The Russian vessel Sparta IV (IMO:9743033), which has been repeatedly involved in the removal of military equipment from Syria, is again heading to Tartus.

“It shows the port of destination in Egypt, but this is not true,” notes Kateryna Yaresko.

A similar situation was recorded in January-February 2025. Thus, on January 26, the Sparta IV vessel left Baltiysk with an official destination in the Egyptian Port Said, but never arrived there.

At that time, USM reported that instead, on February 9, the vessel was recorded south of the island of Cyprus, where it was probably waiting for permission to enter Tartus.
