Russian shipyards claim huge losses due to the construction of industrial ships
Russian shipyards say they are suffering huge losses, about 42 billion rubles, during the construction of industrial vessels under the investment quota program.
In the field of construction of the fishing fleet, “there are serious problems that started even before the sanctions”, writes rosZMI. In russia, these problems are associated “with the lack of necessary competences at the shipyards at the initial stage.”
“The shipyards’ problem was that they took the order, but the contractual obligations with the fishermen were written poorly, they took serious risks, not understanding what they would face, and miscalculated. Shipyards are now declaring huge losses for industrial vessels — about 42 billion rubles,” says Ilya Shestakov, head of Rosrybalstva.
