Russian submarines increasingly out of order, monitoring group says

Since 2024, breakdowns have become more frequent on submarines of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
This is reported by the monitoring group “Crimean Wind”.
In particular, this applies to the submarines “Kolpino” and “Krasnodar”, on which over 50 minor incidents have been recorded during this time.
“This interferes with both scheduled and combat work. Both submarines are currently based in Novorossiysk,” the monitoring group noted.
As a result, all vessels of the Russian Black Sea Fleet were sent for an unscheduled inspection.
“In all cases, clear signs of interference were found. Suspicion fell on the junior officers who had recently arrived in service. Since during the alleged repair, the crew could rest peacefully,” the report says.
Recall that last year, the Russians withdrew and hid the damaged submarine “Rostov-on-Don.”
