Sale of Medvedchuk’s arrested yacht may not take place, — ARMA

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has issued a decision prohibiting the sale of seized property related to Viktor Medvedchuk.
This was reported by the head of the ARMA, Olena Duma.
“This property, in particular, includes objects that have already been sold by the National Agency through the Prozorro system. Sales such as a Maybach car, watches, paintings, quad bikes and buggies for a total amount of over 10.2 million hryvnias,” Duma noted.
The HACC justified the ban by possible “risks of alienation and reduction in the value of assets belonging to the defendants or companies related to them.” The court believes that the sale of these assets may make it impossible to execute the court decision in the event of satisfaction of claims for their recovery to the state income.
“ARMA has already sold part of this property, and the proceeds were directed to the state budget of Ukraine. However, the decision of the VAKS calls into question the legality of such procedures in the Prozorro.Sales system and undermines trust in the transparent management of seized assets,” the Duma noted.
The court did not involve ARMA in the case, although VAKS was informed that part of the assets had already been transferred to the needs of Ukraine’s defense capability during the war. In particular, it concerns the Gulfstream G650 aircraft and the Bell-427 helicopter, which were directed to the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
“The agency has already stopped all active bidding in order to ensure the execution of the court decision and is at the same time preparing to appeal the decision in the appellate instance. We are waiting for a fair and legal decision of the appellate chamber, which will take into account the interests of the state and society. In this regard, an important question arises: will the same fate await Medvedchuk’s seized yacht Royal Romance, the sale of which will bring billions to the budget?” the head of ARMA summarizes.
