Sanctioned Rosatom container ship sank after Ukrainian strike

The Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the sanctioned Russian container ship Yanina, which was sailing under the Russian flag. As a result of the strike, the ship sank.
This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his Telegram channel.
According to him, the ship sailed under the Russian flag and had a capacity of over 100 thousand tons.
“Thanks to the accuracy of our Defense Forces, it went to the bottom,” Zelenskyy said.
The President also reported on the destruction of targets in the Black and Azov Seas. He did not provide other details about the location and circumstances of the sinking of the container ship.
The head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, confirmed the sinking of the container ship and stated that it was an “ordinary civilian ship.” According to him, two Ukrainian drones attacked the ship 130 miles from Novorossiysk. The container ship belongs to FESCO (part of Rosatom).
USM previously reported that the UAV Forces hit 13 more “shadow fleet” ships, bringing the operation’s toll to 196.
