SBU naval drones hit 11 Russian ships and vessels: details

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the SBU has hit 11 Russian ships and vessels with naval drones.

This was reported by the press service of the department, writes “Liga”.

For the first time, the Security Service used naval drones in 2022 to attack ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Sevastopol Bay. Since then, this weapon has been constantly evolving and improving.

The SBU noted that the invention and its effectiveness changed the course of the war, in particular, they affected the distribution of forces in the Black Sea in favor of Ukraine and unblocked the grain corridor. Now Russian ships are forced to hide in other ports, in particular in Novorossiysk.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the SBU has hit 11 warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet with its naval drones, and also successfully attacked the Crimean bridge in July 2023.

The security service specified which enemy ships were hit by its naval drones:

• frigate “Admiral Makarov” (attacked by a prototype drone);

• frigate “Admiral Essen” (prototype);

• minesweeper “Ivan Golubets” (prototype);

• patrol ship “Ladny” (prototype);

• missile carrier “Samum” (Sea Baby);
