SBU underwater drones blow up Russian submarine in Novorossiysk port for the first time

In the harbor of Novorossiysk, Sub Sea Baby underwater drones hit the submarine of the project 636.3 “Varshavyanka”, effectively disabling it.

In the port of Novorossiysk, Sub Sea Baby underwater drones blew up the submarine of the class 636.3 “Varshavyanka”. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

The operation was carried out jointly by the 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU and the Naval Forces of Ukraine.

On board the submarine were four launchers of “Kalibr” cruise missiles, which the enemy uses to strike the territory of Ukraine.

“The cost of the submarine of the class “Varshavyanka” is about 400 million US dollars. Given the international sanctions imposed, the construction of a similar submarine can currently cost up to 500 million dollars. This class of submarines is also known as the “Black Hole” due to the hull’s ability to absorb sounds and remain invisible to sonar,” the SBU noted.

The Security Service recalled that the submarine was forcibly based in Novorossiysk after the successful operations of the Sea Baby surface naval drones, which displaced enemy ships from the Sevastopol Bay in occupied Crimea.

Earlier, USM wrote that Russia is not capable of cutting off Ukraine from the Black Sea.
