SE “USPA” received a new pilot boat that will work in ports on the Danube

The second pilot boat for USPA was built at one of the Turkish shipyards.

As reported in the USPA , the vessel, which was built at the Izmir Shipyard with the assistance of the USAID Project “Economic Support of Ukraine”, has already been delivered to Ukraine.

The boat is specially designed to work in closed harbors and rivers, which is especially important for pilotage operations in the ports of the Danube region.

“It will significantly increase the efficiency and safety of the delivery and removal of pilots to ships bound for the ports of Reni, Izmail and Ust-Dunaisk,” USPA noted.

It will be recalled that the first ship built by the Ukrainian company “UMS MARYN” was handed over to the AMPU in May of this year. A third boat, also under construction at the Turkish shipyard Izmir, is expected to arrive within the next month.

“Thanks to systematic cooperation with international partners and donors, USPA has already attracted technical assistance in the amount of over 1.56 billion hryvnias. These funds are aimed at modernizing the port infrastructure and increasing the safety of maritime operations in Ukrainian ports,” the department summarized.

Earlier, the USPA said that more than 80 million tons of cargo had already been transported through the Ukrainian maritime corridor.
