For eight months of the year, cargo turnover of Ukrainian ports amounted to almost 67 million tons, USPA reported.
According to operational data of the state-owned enterprise, from January to August 2024, Ukrainian seaports processed 66.8 million tons of cargo. The indicators are significantly higher than for the same period in 2023, when the volume of processed cargo was 37.7 million tons.
41.7 million tons of processed goods were products of the Ukrainian agricultural sector, which emphasizes the importance of the industry for the national economy.
In August, Ukrainian ports handled 6.8 million tons of cargo, which is more than double the results of August 2023, of which 4 million tons were agricultural products exported to international markets. USM previously reported that Ukraine exported 630,000 tons of barley to China this summer.
