Serhii Gurskyi became the new head of the Shipping Register
The Shipping Administration has appointed Serhii Gurskyi as the General Director of the State Enterprise “Classification Society Shipping Register of Ukraine”.
Gursky will replace Oleksandr Riffa, who was fired by the Shipping Administration in April.
According to Yevgeny Ignatenko, the head of the Shipping Administration, from the beginning of his career, Gursky was engaged in the organization of ship repair, modernization and construction at the Kherson Shipyard, as well as at the Smart-Maritime Group LLC.
Subsequently, Gurskyi assumed the position of chief shipbuilder of the “Ocean Shipyard” LLC, where he assumed control over all production. Already in 2021, at the same enterprise, he took the position of general director — he supervised the activities, organized the work and formed the development strategy of the “Ocean” shipbuilding plant.
“The work of the Register of Shipping of Ukraine must be coordinated and effective, because its main function is to ensure the safety of shipping. Serhii Gurskyi, who has considerable experience in the field of shipping, will, together with the Registry’s team of specialists, adjust all processes and determine future priorities,” Ignatenko wrote in Telegram.
