Shipments of vessels through the “grain corridor” decreased by almost a third

The number of ship departures from the ports of Great Odessa decreased by 26% during the week.

During the past week, 32 vessels were sent from the seaports of Ukraine — 11 less than in the previous week, the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business reports.

From October 17 to 23, Ukraine exported 787.9 thousand tons of agricultural products through the “grain corridor” – 8% less than a week earlier.

During this time, corn (35%), rapeseed (22%) and wheat (20%) were sent the most.

Most products were exported to Asian countries — 362,000 tons. 325,000 tons were sent to European countries, 101,000 tons to African countries.

UKAB noted that export indicators and the number of loaded vessels in Ukrainian seaports are falling for the second day in a row. The reason for this dynamic is a long line of vessels waiting for inspection. Currently, their number exceeds 100 units.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is sure that the actions of russian federation led to traffic jams from ships near Istanbul. Delays in the inspections of grain initiative vessels are politically motivated, the ministry believes. Thus, the russian leadership has repeatedly tried without legal grounds to question the “grain corridor”, demanding new benefits for agreeing to extend the agreement.
