Siemens floating stations may appear near Odesa, Mykolaiv and Izmail
Germany’s Siemens Energy offered the government of Ukraine to place its floating power plants in the water areas near Odesa, Mykolaiv and Izmail.
Siemens offers Ukraine power plants with a capacity of 150-300 MW, placed on ships with a draft of 5 meters or more, Ukrainian Forbes writes. They burn liquefied natural gas, fuel oil or biodiesel to produce electricity. Vessels are connected to the ground network by means of cables.
Ukrenergo commented to the publication that the state-owned company is not conducting any negotiations regarding floating power plants. And the press service of the Ministry of Energy refused to comment on this topic.
Previously, USM reported that Ukraine and Turkey are negotiating the placement of floating thermal power plants.
