Since its inception, Grain from Ukraine has already shipped 290 thousand tons of agricultural products

Ukraine and its partners have delivered agricultural products to countries facing hunger and food crises.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In total, since the beginning of the food initiative, Ukraine and its partners have sent 290,000 tons of agricultural products to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Palestine, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. More than 20 million people have received assistance.

“Grain from Ukraine is a humanitarian food program of Ukraine that supports the peoples of Africa and Asia. Ukraine and its international partners supply Ukrainian agricultural products (grain, oil, flour) to people facing hunger. The program began work in 2022 at the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and together with the UN World Food Program,” the ministry recalled.

In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Ukraine understands how important it is to support peoples suffering from the consequences of the food crisis.

“Ukraine is not only ready to join in resolving current crises, but also to work strategically to find sustainable solutions – to share expertise and agricultural technologies,” the ministry noted.

Earlier, USM reported that the Grain from Ukraine initiative is planned to be expanded in 2025.
