Since the beginning of the war, the port of Constanta has processed more than 4.5 million tons of Ukrainian grain

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russian federation into Ukraine, approximately 4.5 million tons of Ukrainian grain have arrived at the Romanian port.

Ukraine continues to ship grain to the Romanian port of Constanta, even after the opening of the grain corridor.

“Some of the traders we deal with have reduced their operations in Reni and Ismail, but the flows we have created are still continuing. We see that they can remain even after the war. 

The volumes of grain have become slightly smaller, but the pace of shipment is almost the same as before,” Deputy Executive Director of TTS Group Ion Stanchu told Reuters.

According to him, TTS transported almost 1 million tons of cargo to/from Ukraine since the start of the war, with grain accounting for slightly less than half of this volume. Also, TTS director of investor relations Gabriel Techera said that “the company implemented a logistics chain based on two marine buoy terminals in the port of Constanta, which made it possible to speed up the loading of grain from barges to ships.”

TTS Group transships cargo in the port of Constanta. The company manages the largest fleet of barges on the Danube with a total capacity of 800,000 tons, and the company’s granaries in Constanta can store 110,000 tons of grain.

As USM previously reported, the largest operator of the port of Constanta earned 8 million euros on Ukrainian cargo.
