Since the beginning of the year, more than 22 million tons of cargo have been transported by rail to ports


In January-May, 22.2 million tons of cargo were transported by rail to Ukrainian ports.

This was stated by Valerii Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of Ukrzaliznytsia, Rail.insider reports.

He specified that in 2024, 55.5 million tons of cargo were transported to ports by rail. In particular, the largest amount of cargo was transported to the TIS port — 13 million tons. The second place with an indicator of 12.2 million tons is occupied by the port of Pivdenny. Also among the leaders are the ports of Chornomorsk and Odesa (12 million tons and 11.2 million tons, respectively).

In the structure of cargo, grain took first place last year — 29.3 million tons. In second place — ore (18.4 million tons). Ferrous metals also entered the top three (3.6 million tons).
