Since the beginning of the year, the cargo turnover of the ports of the Russian Federation has decreased significantly
The total cargo turnover in the ports of the aggressor country for January / February amounted to 139.6 million tons.
The cargo turnover of Russian seaports for January/February 2024 decreased to 139.6 million tons. This was reported by the Russian Association of Sea Trade Ports (ASOP).
The processing of export cargo amounted to 109.7 million tons (-1.6%), import cargo – 6.5 million tons (+8.4%), transit cargo – 11.7 million tons (+8.5%). cabotage – 11.7 million tons (-9%).
Transshipment of dry cargo in the ports of the Russian Federation amounted to 67.2 million tons. The Russians transshipped 72.4 million tons of bulk cargo.
The cargo turnover of seaports of the Arctic Basin amounted to 15 million tons (-4.5%), of which transshipment of dry cargo decreased to 4.2 million tons (-8.3%), bulk cargo to 10.8 million tons (- 3% ).
Seaports of the Russian Federation in the Baltic basin processed 41.8 million tons of cargo (-4%), of which 19 million tons of dry cargo (+14.1%) and 22.8 million tons of bulk cargo (-15.3%).
At the same time, not surprisingly, the cargo turnover of Russian ports in the Azov-Black Sea basin increased to 46.2 million tons (+3.5%), of which 21.4 million tons (+1.3%) of dry cargoes were processed, bulk cargoes — 24.8 million tons (+5.6%).
In general, Russian cargo traffic was reoriented to the ports of the Caspian basin. Indeed, this indicator increased by 1.5 times and reached 1.4 million tons, including 1 million tons of dry cargo and 0.4 million tons of bulk cargo (-6%).
The cargo turnover of seaports of the Far Eastern basin amounted to 35.2 million tons (-3%). Of these, dry cargo transshipment — 21.6 million tons (-6.3%), bulk cargo — 13.6 million tons (+2.8%).
USM recently reported that in February, sea exports of petroleum products from Russia fell.
As USM previously wrote, Ukraine paralyzed 12% of Russia’s oil refining capacity only at the beginning of March.
