Since the beginning of the year, the Russians have attacked 13 ships and a warship in the ports of the Odesa region

In January-September, 13 civilian vessels and one ship were damaged as a result of Russian attacks. The largest number of strikes occurred in July and August.

Thus, the Institute’s Monitoring Group has recorded 11 attacks on vessels in the ports of the Odesa region since the beginning of 2025.
According to Klymenko, 13 civilian vessels and one military ship were damaged as a result of these attacks. July and August were the most active months for Russian shelling – five attacks each month. One attack was recorded in May, three in March. There were no shelling of vessels in other months.
Vessels were damaged in the Odesa Commercial Sea Port, the ports of Chornomorsk and Izmail, as well as in the Danube ports, the coastal waters of the Black Sea and the mouth of the Danube.
The means of attack varied from Iskander-M ballistic missiles to sea mines, attack drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Among the most high-profile incidents:
• March 1 — the bulk carrier SUPER SARKAS (Sierra Leone flag) and the container ship MSC LEVANTE F (Panama) were attacked with ballistic missiles in the Odessa International Port;
• March 11 — the bulk carrier MJ Pinar (Barbados) was damaged in the same water area, four crew members were killed;
• July 3 — the AJ ROSE (St. Kitts and Nevis) was hit by an Iskander-M missile in the Odesa port, two people were killed;
• July 23 — the Ukrainian dredger Ingulsky exploded at the mouth of the Bystrom River on the Danube, three sailors were killed;
• August 20 — a drone attack damaged the chemical tanker Excellion (Panama) at the Izmail International Port;
• August 28 — the Ukrainian warship Simferopol was attacked near the Danube pier, one sailor was killed and several were injured.
Earlier, USM reported that the Russians had attacked the port infrastructure of the Odesa region.
