Solskyi: Now it is impossible to predict whether the grain agreement will be extended
Currently, it is not known whether the Istanbul Agreements on the export of grain through the Black Sea will be extended.
It is difficult to debate the chances of extending the grain initiative, which is expected to expire in November. This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, speaking at the summit in Paris.
“We can talk about the chances of continuing something when there are reasonable, adequate people at the table. Since this is not the case in this situation, it is difficult to plan something,” Solskyi said.
He added that Ukraine is working with the UN and Turkey to extend the agreement, which is vital for the Ukrainian economy and for African countries.
“I think that the extension of the agreement will be a very worrying issue for us until it is signed. The understanding, whether it will happen or not, will be closer to the end of the agreement,” Solskyi said.
