Solskyi promised to facilitate the investigation into land acquisition in Sumy region

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi promised to be as open as possible regarding the land acquisition case in Sumy region.

Mykola Solsky assured that on his part he guarantees maximum openness to establish the truth in the case of illegal acquisition of land in Sumy Oblast. The minister stated this in an address to the mass media.

“But there is no need for this either – all data are open to law enforcement officers, and the evidence and arguments of the parties are under consideration by the courts,” Solskyi noted.

According to the minister, the seven-year-old circumstances relate to a dispute between state-owned enterprises and natural persons (in particular, ATO soldiers) over land that was given to the latter in possession in accordance with the law.

“Disputes are resolved by courts, including the Supreme Court, and as far as I know, to date, a number of decisions state that state-owned enterprises do not have the right to land, which NABU probably means,” he added.

According to Mykola Solskyi, the events about which NABU notified him of suspicion relate to the period when he was not yet a minister. The minister stated that the suspicion of “taking possession of state land for UAH 291 million” refers to the period of 2017-2018.
