South Korea has imposed sanctions against Russian and North Korean ships
South Korea has imposed restrictions against Russian and North Korean vessels for engaging in illegal activities.
Four Russian vessels and eight North Korean vessels have been sanctioned, Yonhap reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea.
The vessels have been sanctioned for their involvement in the illegal trade in arms and fuel, as well as other activities that violate UN Security Council resolutions.
Four ships of the Russian Federation were involved in the supply of oil to North Korea through ship-to-ship transfers.
The sanctions also apply to five organizations, including the North Korean Missile Administration, and eight North Korean citizens.
Previously, USM reported that the owner of the largest shipping companies of the Russian Federation is still avoiding sanctions.
