Spain will provide almost 15 million euros to strengthen Ukraine’s food security

The Spanish government will allocate an additional 14.5 million euros to Ukraine to continue the development of the global food security program.

Such a statement was shared by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine Ricardo Lopez-Aranda Hagu during a briefing in the port of Chornomorsk.

“Last September, the Prime Minister of Spain announced at the UN General Assembly that Spain would provide more than 236 million euros for the implementation of this program. And now Spain will add another 14.5 million euros,” the EP quotes the ambassador’s statement.

According to the representative of Spain, russia’s aggression against Ukraine had a great impact on other countries and endangered global food security.

“This program shows how Ukraine extends a hand of friendship to its friends who need help. I am very pleased that Spain was able to join this program,” the ambassador said.

He added that Spain will continue to provide military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
