Special Operation Forces hit Russian ship and oil platform in Caspian Sea

On the night of December 19, units of the Special Operations Forces struck the Russian ship of project 22460 “Okhotnik”.

This was reported by the Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The ships of project 22460 “Okhotnik” are modern Russian patrol ships of the second rank, which combine the capabilities of protecting the sea border, patrolling and controlling the maritime situation. They have weapons and equipment to perform a wide range of tasks in coastal waters. Several SSO drones successfully hit the target.

Special Operations Forces drones also struck a drilling platform at the Filanovsky oil and gas field in the Caspian Sea. The facility belongs to the Lukoil company. The platform ensures the production of oil and gas, the export of which fills the Russian budget and finances the war.

The initial reserves of the field are estimated at approximately 129 million tons of oil and 30 billion cubic meters of gas. The level of damage to the platform after being hit by Special Operations Forces drones and its further operational capability are being clarified.

Earlier, USM reported that the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine and the rebel movement attacked two Russian ships in the Caspian Sea.
