Starlink offered 2 months of free internet for ships

A special offer introduced by Starlink resellers allows any IMO-registered vessel to receive two months of free mobile service.
Elon Musk’s company is trying to capture an even larger part of the shipping market, writes Splash 24/7.
To this end, a number of authorized Starlink representatives have introduced a special offer whereby any vessel with an IMO registered number can receive two months of free mobile service with 5 terabytes per month to trial the new technology.
With a Starlink marine terminal costing $2,500 and a five-terabyte monthly service costing $5,000 a month, this offering is worth $10,000 and resellers expect it to see widespread demand. Although a custom terminal is not included in the offer, owners who choose to return the terminal after completing the two-month free trial are offered a full refund.
As previously reported by USM, SpaceX’s Starlink satellite communication service quickly “took over” the cruise industry as well.
