Sulina may be closed for two days due to bad weather: about 70 vessels are waiting at the roadstead

The Sulina Canal may be closed for about two days due to worsening weather. At the same time, about 70 vessels are already waiting at the Sulin roadstead.
This was reported by Avalon Shipping Operations Manager Kateryna Kononenko.
According to her, the weather is expected to worsen on Friday, and according to the current forecast, the canal’s operation may be suspended for about two days.
“For the current situation, this is a really serious blow,” Kononenko noted.
She also reported that about 70 vessels are currently waiting at the Sulin roadstead. At the same time, the actual throughput capacity of the Sulina Canal for vessels heading to Ukrainian ports is only 2-3 vessels per day.
According to Kononenko, new vessels continue to arrive, while waiting times are increasing.
Earlier, USM reported that the USPA explained how the queue of vessels for passage through the Sulin Canal is formed.
