Sunolta will sue the Ministry of Justice for the terminal in the port of Odesa
Sunolta demands that the orders of the Ministry of Justice to cancel the state registration of the company’s ownership rights to the grain terminal in Odesa port be recognized as illegal.
The decision of the Ministry of Justice to cancel the state registration of Sunolta’s ownership rights to the terminal in the port of Odesa is a “gross violation of the rule of law.” This is stated on the website of the group of companies.
Therefore, Sunolta accuses the Ministry of Justice of violating the principles of the rule of law, as well as the fact that their actions “have all the signs of corruption offenses in favor of raiders.”
It will be recalled that last year the Sunolta group of companies acquired capacity for transshipment of grain cargoes at the terminal in the Odesa Sea Trade Port. Actually, we are talking about a part of logistics port facilities and equipment that belonged to the GNT Group company and were pledged by the Ukrainian banks “Pivdenny” and “Vostok” for debt obligations.
In December 2022, a legal dispute broke out between GNT Group and its creditors, Argentem Creek Partners (ACP) and Innovatus Capital Partners. The parties announced possible interruptions in the grain terminal, which jeopardized the shipment of Sunolta’s agricultural products in the Odesa port. Then the group decided to expand the export potential at the expense of its own logistics capacities.
Almost a year later, after all possible deadlines had expired, the Ministry of Justice accepted two complaints from ACP representatives to cancel the registration of Sunolta group companies’ rights to the purchased property.
According to the statement, due to this decision of the officials, the stable operation of the grain port terminal was in jeopardy. So far, the court has decided to prohibit the execution of the orders of the Ministry of Justice until the case is considered.
