Surface drones penetrated the bay in Sevastopol, although russian federation denied this
The surface drone, which attacked Sevastopol on the night of April 24, was able to penetrate into Strelskaya Bay. Earlier, russia claimed the opposite.
On the night of April 24, one of the two surface drones went to Sevastopol’s Rifle Bay. This was announced by Andriy Klymenko, head of the monitoring group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies.
“So, the surface drone passed to Sevastopol’s Rifle Bay. It exploded approximately in front of a complex of buildings – a dormitory and educational buildings of the Sevastopol Instrumentation Institute (the name of the times when I studied there). Historically, a brigade of OVR ships (protection of the water area) is stationed in Streletska Bay,” the expert wrote.
The Sevastopol State University currently operates on the site of the former instrument-making institute.
We will remind, on the night of April 24, Sevastopol was attacked by the surface drones. One of the drones was shot down, the other exploded by itself. In Russia, they assured that the incident happened during an external raid, and the drones allegedly did not penetrate the bay.
Later, the Ministry of Defense of russian federation accused Ukraine of violating the “grain agreement” – due to the fact that Ukrainian drones allegedly attacked the fleet and “civilian infrastructure of Crimea” in occupied Sevastopol.
Russian federation also stated that an analysis of the drones’ route “showed that they were all launched from the water area of the port of Odesa” designated for the implementation of the “Black Sea Initiative.”
