Suspension of USAID assistance will negatively affect the agricultural sector, — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine stated that the suspension of USAID programs will negatively affect the Ukrainian agricultural sector.

This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitalii Koval, nterfax-Ukraine reports.

According to him, the government is looking for ways to solve this problem and attract alternative financing.

The minister added that many manufacturers were expecting the supply of equipment that had already been financed by both programs and their own funds.

Koval noted that he had noticed that relying on financing from a single source for Ukraine in times of war is too risky. Therefore, the government is looking for options to replace American funds with European financing of projects that have been launched.

The President of the Ukrainian Grain Association Mykola Gorbachev stated that, according to his information, the suspension of financial support has led to the fact that 160 highly qualified specialists may be dismissed from the Ukrainian USAID representative office under various programs.

Earlier, USM reported that USAID had suspended financing of projects in Ukraine. This order is related to the US State Department’s order to suspend aid programs to other countries for 90 days.
