Sweden prepares resources for Black Sea mine clearance after ceasefire


Stockholm has publicly stated its readiness to direct naval resources to clear the Black Sea of ​​mines.

Sweden is ready to support security in Ukraine after the ceasefire, in particular, by assisting in the demining of the Black Sea. This was written by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on the X platform.

“Sweden is ready to contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine and the rest of Europe. We are ready to maintain peace in Ukraine, in particular, with the help of Gripen fighters for aerial surveillance over Ukraine, naval resources for demining the Black Sea by continuing the training of Ukrainian officers,” the message says.

He emphasized that Sweden’s participation will have clear prerequisites. Among them are the achievement of a peace agreement, clear rules for the use of multinational forces and official approval by parliament.

Earlier, USM reported that Sweden will strengthen NATO’s eastern flank at sea, on land and in the air in 2026.
